Since the “About” page is typically where one can share one’s own story, I thought I’d share a bit about my “why” and what motivates me to help other professionals achieve breakthrough success and happiness in their lives, relationships, and careers.

Many years ago, I knew that someday I would establish myself as a go-to person assisting others in solving their problems.  I’ve always believed it was a calling.  Even as far back as high school, close friends nicknamed me “JP” (which stood for Junior Psychologist) because I was the one they came to for help with their problems.  Helping others has always been a passion of mine.

For two decades before transitioning my focus to counseling and coaching, I worked as an executive in and with clients in corporate America, leveraging a BBA and an MBA focused in Strategic Planning and Organizational Management as well as a PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification I still maintain.

I’ve worked with teams and clients of all sizes converting the resistance to change to the embracing of change.  Whether we’re launching a large technology implementation or revamping business processes across the organization, managing the people side of that change is, in my opinion, the element that determines success or failure yet it is so often overlooked.

After reaching 40 years of age, something changed… even though I was seemingly successful on the outside, I was unfulfilled on the inside.  While my efforts positively impacted companies’ bottom lines project after project, it wasn’t enough for me.  I wanted to do more to help people improve their lives, both at home and at work.  It was at this point I changed direction, earned a second master’s degree, this one in Counseling, licensure in the beautiful state of CO, and additionally trained to be a professional coach.

Working in the corporate world and having walked in my clients’ shoes have served as a springboard in helping make a real impact on people’s lives both personally and professionally.

Regularly I’m told by clients that they feel I really “get” them and that I’m unlike any other counselor or coach they’ve experienced.

My background as a management consultant and change management executive makes me solution-focused, practical and uniquely qualified to understand and empathize with the business person’s day-to-day trials and tribulations inside and outside of work having been there myself for so many years.

My primary areas of focus revolve around helping clients improve their relationship, communication, and problem-solving skills in either a counseling, coaching and/or consulting setting.  While I’m passionate about continually developing my methods, education and abilities to work in this capacity, my wisdom and skills are mostly a product of substantial life experience, sharp intuition, and unrelenting commitment to my own (as well as my clients’) personal growth.

In our time together, we will find and put into practice the solutions to many of your personal and professional issues via relationship, life, and/or business leadership counseling, coaching, or consulting techniques.  My objective is to provide a comprehensive, individualized program, using the latest in complementary methods—a highly personalized approach tailored to help you be the best you can be in the areas in which you choose to focus.  In doing so, it is my goal to help enhance your sense of well-being, happiness, and quality of life.

We do this by working together to address the specific concerns you have in either your personal or professional life or both.  With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual, couple, or team to help build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing.

I have helped hundreds of people to successfully move smoothly into new chapters of their lives.  Perhaps I can assist you, too.  I invite you to reach out to me via phone or email to have a conversation and get the ball rolling.  I maintain a private online counseling practice in Colorado and am available via phone or video call (such as via Zoom) to coaching clients all over the U.S.
